Hoisin Beef Noodles

You can substitute other ground meat for beef and modify the vegetables to what you have available




  • 2 Tbs oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbs hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce


  • 1 tbs peanut or coconut oil
  • 3/4 pound ground beef (or meat of choice)
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Napa cabbage, shredded
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 8 ounces of Ramen or another Asian egg noodle
  • 2 Tbs green onion, cut on a diagonal (GARNISH)
  • sesame seeds (GARNISH)



  • In a small measuring cup, mix together all the ingredients and set aside


  • Heat the oil in a wok or large sauté pan over high heat.
  • Add the beef and spread it out in the pan.
  • After you break up the meat, do not stir. Leave alone to sear and cook for 5-8 minutes until the meat juice has evaporated and the beef starts to char.
  • use a spatula to lift beef from the pan and toss it in the pan
  • Add the onion and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add the cabbage and carrots and stir fry for 30 seconds.
  • turn the heat off and set aside.
  • Cook the noodles in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until just al dente.
  • Drain the noodles.
  • Bring the heat back up on the beef and add 1/2 of the sauce.
  • Stir to coat the meat and vegetables.
  • Add the noodles and the remainder of the sauce and stir until well combined and the noodles are coated with the sauce.
  • When serving, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds
