Description

The secret is to spread the dough thin enough to crisp and to cut it while it is hot (or it will break up)


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Sticks butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 medium egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans (chopped)
  • 1 medium egg white (partially beaten)

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, sugar and egg yolk.
  2. Add vanilla, salt, and flour and mix.
  3. Divide dough into two equal parts.
  4. Spread very thin on two greased cookie sheets (12X18).
  5. Glaze top with partially beaten egg white.
  6. Sprinkle with nuts.
  7. Bake at 325 F for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Cut while it is hot.
