Basic White Sauce (for cream soups)


  • Yield: 3 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 2 tbs flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • to taste white pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat.
  2. Remove from the heat.
  3. Blend in the flour, salt, and white pepper
  4. Return to the heat, stirring in the milk.
  5. Heat. stirring constantly until thickened and bubbling.
