Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade


  • Yield: 20 Tbs 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Marinade

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (Or you can just use all water)
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbs brown sugar

Thickening Slurry

  • 2 tbs cold water
  • 2 tbs cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Combine the soy sauce, water, orange juice (if using), garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and brown suagr in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a simmer and simmer about 2 minutes until brown sugar is dissolved and ingredients are fragrant.
  3. In a small cup, combine the cornstarch and water and mix well to create a slurry.
  4. While the sauce is simmering, slowly add the slurry a small amount at a time until it is a little thinner than the desired consistency (it will continue to thicken when removed from the heat).
