Waldorf Salad

This version does NOT have the sweet dressing often associated with Waldorf salad.


  • 4 medium apples (cored, peeled and diced)
  • 2 ribs celery (minced)
  • 1 small can pineapple tidbits (in juice, drained)
  • 2/3 cup walnuts (coarsely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (We prefer Bulgarian but any will work) If using greek yogurt, you will need to add a little of the pineapple juice)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp honey (if using Bulgarian yogurt)


  1. Combine the apple, celery, and pineapple.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, combine the yogurt (and pineapple juice if needed), cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, and salt.
  3. Add the walnuts and dressing to the salad, mixing well.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
