Dog Food



Dry Mixture

  • 2 cups nutritional yeast

  • 1/4 cup kelp or alfalfa powder
  • 1000 mg Vitamin C powder
  • 1 1/2 tbs garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup bran
  • 1 cup lecithin

Wet Mixture

  • 2 cups brown rice (cooked)
  • 1 1/2 cup cooked grain of choice (barley, cornmeal, farro, OR lentils)
  • 1 cup beans (black, pinto, kidney) (mashed)
  • 1 cup cooked carrots (mashed)
  • 1 cup sweet potatoes or pumpkin, cooked (mashed)
  • 1/4 cup bran
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 2 cups cooked organ meat or fish (liver, chicken livers, heart)
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 3-4 cups fat rendered broth (beef or chicken)


Dry Ingredients

  1. Mix all ingredients together well and store in an airtight container
  2. Sprinkle 1 tbs per pound of weight on wet food before serving

Wet Ingredients

  1. Place fat (chicken or beef) in pot and cover with water
  2. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer.
  3. Simmer until tissues begin to break down and water is coated with fat.
  4. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  5. Using a stick blender, blend until forms a thin pasty consistency.
  6. Cook grain of choice and rice using a watered version of the fat broth.
  7. Place carrots and sweet potato in the pan and just add enough water to cook until tender.
  8. In a large bowl, place the rice and grain mixture.
  9. Add the carrots, sweet potato, mashed beans, bran, and garlic powder.
  10. While the grain mixture is still warm, add the eggs and mix in thoroughly.
  11. As necessary, mash the carrots and sweet potatoes while mixing all the ingredients.
  12. Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
  13. Serve 1 cup per 10 pounds of body weight daily.
