Pan Fried Green Beans Almondine with Bacon and Garlic

Description

This dish is vegetarian if you omit the bacon


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 tbs butter or ghee
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • sea salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Sauté bacon over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and releases its fat.
  • Remove the bacon pieces and set them aside to drain on paper towels.
  • Add the butter to the pan with the bacon fat and heat until it is melted.
  • Add the green beans and cook until they are bright green
  • Add the almonds and sauté until the almonds are golden.
  • Add the garlic, and sauté until the garlic is fragrant.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and bacon pieces.
  • Toss everything to coat.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
