Green Beans with Pine Nuts

  • i pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbs fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts, lightly toasted
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1/2 tsp Calabrian chile


  • Bring a large sauté pan of water to boil.
  • Add the green beans and salt.
  • Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • Drain the beans and dry the pan
  • Add the olive oil to the sauté pan and heat on medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and cooked green beans
  • Satuee on medium heat for about 2 minutes, stirring.
  • Add the calabrian chile an dstir to coat.
  • Remove from the ehat.
  • Add the lemon juice and stir.
  • When serving, top with Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, and black pepper
